For interest, to see some examples of Richard Revell's reports in his own handwriting, look up the Intelligence Files (CO904/193/11) for Hamilton Paul Bell.

Bell was an active member of the Gaelic League, and also a civil servant in the employ of the General Prisons Board. Incidentally, he, together with Andrew Philip Magill, another civil servant who at one time was in the RIC Office, founded the Bohemian F.C. football club in Dalymount Park, Dublin. Magill was later to be a senior civil servant in Stormont.
